On September 14th Nordstrom- Eaton Centre opened their doors 2 days prior to grand opening for a charity gala. This 213,000 square feet flagship store is Nordstrom‘s first ever location in Canada. This opening gala being one of the biggest fashion events of the year, had approximately 2000 attendees that evening. And of course with this opening gala comes great food & drinks to enhance each and every guest ‘s experience at the event.
Lucky for us, we were invited by Daniel et Daniel, the official caterer of the Nordstrom opening gala to attend this event. We had the chance to speak with the executive chef about the menu development and also received a lovely behind the scenes tour from the event planning team. With 35 years of catering experience under their belt, Daniel et Daniel take the hands on approach to event planning and catering to ensure clear communication with clients. They offer support and direction to their on-site event teams.
Daniel et Daniel started planning for the Nordstrom – Eaton Centre opening gala back in February. They designed a customized menu specifically for this event. Daniel et Daniel prepared everything on site (with the exception of desserts) and sourced everything with local ingredients within 100 km of Toronto. They strive to constantly think ‘out of the box’ and evolve their menus. Please enjoy all the photos from the Opening Gala event below!

We had the opportunity for a behind the scenes tour with the evening planning staff with Daniel et Daniel. Strategic planning was definitely done ahead. We noticed the Daniel et Daniel staff working in the back were extremely calm and took their time to ensure each item was carefully put together.
Whenever possible, the food packaging / utensils were all Nordstrom branded. Each of the mini burger and pizza boxes were hand folded by the staff at Daniel et Daniel.

Thank you Daniel et Daniel for having us at the opening gala and taking the time to give our team a behind the scenes tour & explaining the menu development catered for Nordstrom – Eaton Centre. The event was a huge success and all the careful planning & consistent hor d’oeuvres served along with all the small touches from Daniel et Daniel team didn’t go unnoticed. We’re so glad to have been apart of the evening.
