Another amazing dinner @ Blu Ristorante

In a recent blog post about my dining experience at Blu Ristorante (post here), I mentioned how much I enjoyed everything from start to finish – specifically the tartare, duck confit pasta and tiramisu.  Of course, a few weeks later after that post, I am back again to check out their new menu.

Blu Ristorante, located steps away from Yonge & Bloor Subway Station in Yorkville, is a modern & intimate restaurant serving authentic Italian food.

Peach Mimosa ($13.00)

  • Peach Necter, Prosecco
  • I loved any fruity cocktails – The citrusy peach necter really played on the palate, making the drink itself quite refreshing

Bread to start – flavours were great but wished it was served warmer or even toasted.

Sweet Pea Soup, Mascarpone, Basil Oil ($11.00)

  • My mom loved the soup – she couldn’t stop complementing how bold and rich the flavours were

  • Poached Pear, Slow Roasted Pork Belly, Salsa Verde, Toasted Almonds
  • This was my starter – the scallops were seared perfectly. I love the garnishes around the scallops especially the roasted pork belly which gave the overall dish some “salty” profile

  • Roasted Root Vegetables, Green Beans, Mint Jus
  • The rack of the lamb was the star of the show – cooked to a perfect medium rare.
  •  The sight of the juices oozing out of every slice of the lamb was just incredible
  • The tenderness and melt in your mouth texture really show cased the chef’s talent

  • Primavera Vegetables, Rose Nage Sauce
  • The sauce was super creamy in an oh-so-addictive way! Blu Ristorante did not cheap on ingredients – my pasta had chunks of lobsters and prawn!
  • The assortments of all the primavera vegetables heightened the pasta with rich flavours that paired perfectly with the rose nage sauce

Vanilla Creme Brulee ($10.00)

  • The best part of any creme brulee for me personally is breaking past the hard caramel and getting to the custard. Sometimes the glaze of hard caramel is too thick or too sweet
  • Nonetheless, the creme brulee was really unique with subtle undertones of vanilla

Latte ($4.50)

To top off this incredible dining experience, patrons that dine in on Friday and Saturday evenings  are able to enjoy a live pianist to set an even more intimate dining experience. If you’re in the Yorkville area and looking for a nice & romantic-esk Italian restaurant – this is the place.

I love how every dish has flavors so carefully infused into them, but more so the presentation is beautiful! I’m very picky about that lol! Piano too, wow romantic 🙂
