Our Stop by Laura Jane Williams

SYNOPSIS: Nadia gets the 7.30 train every morning without fail. Well, except if she oversleeps or wakes up at her friend Emma’s after too much wine.

Daniel really does get the 7.30 train every morning, which is easy because he hasn’t been able to sleep properly since his dad died.

One morning, Nadia’s eye catches sight of a post in the daily paper:

To the cute girl with the coffee stains on her dress. I’m the guy who’s always standing near the doors… Drink sometime?

So begins a not-quite-romance of near-misses, true love, and the power of the written word.

MY THOUGHTS: Our Stop is a cute summer beach read narrated in both Nadia + Daniels’ voices. I love my British rom-coms so I knew I had to pick up this book up. As much as I find this book to be a warm and fuzzy read, I did find some parts of the book a slightly creepy at times. The author goes into some detail about all the things Daniel was silently notices about Nadia and thinks about doing to get her attention. But after a while, you just appreciate everything that he’s doing is just Daniel being himself. This book is a fiction after all and if his romantic gestures are not going to happen in real life then it better happen it a book! I enjoyed the way the author humanized the characters in this book. You get to see both Nadia + Daniel’s vulnerable sides, how they slowly leave their emotional baggage behind them and become stronger characters by the time they meet. It’s just one of those books that will put a smile to your day!
