A few weeks ago I was contacted by Stephen Lee, owner of HVR Foods Inc. Based in Toronto, HVR Foods Inc. is a family owned company that recently launched their own brand called Seoul Kitchen that produces frozen packaged fully marinated Korean meat. Currently on the market, Seoul Kitchen has only released 2 types of Korean Meat (which I sampled both) – Korean Beef Short Ribs & Korean Spicy Chicken. These 2 frozen packaged Korean Meats are available at Nations Fresh Foods and PAT MART. Ready…

Our feast @ Jacobs & Co Steakhouse

When my boss asked us to pick a restaurant for our team appreciation dinner – I did little to no research and told our group we would be eating at¬†Jacobs & Co Steakhouse ūüôā So a few months ago (January to be exact), our team ended up at Jacobs on a random weeknight after work. The service at Jacobs was the complete opposite of what I had in mind. Servers were down to earth, super friendly and attentive. However, I did find it odd that hostess table did not offer to¬†take any of our jackets before we were shown to our table. I noticed patrons in the dining room had their jackets hanging on the…

Sakura Cheesecake from Uncle Tetsu

Uncle Tetsu‘s most recent addition to the family of Cheesecake shops has opened its doors to the public a few months ago. Located in the heart of Unionville on Main Street, this particular location sets itself apart from the other downtown locations by offering your not so average Sakura Cheesecake. Luckily enough for us, we were able to sample Uncle Tetsu‘s Sakura Cheesecake along with their Yuzu Cheesecake. The cheesecake holds a different kind of texture as it involves no baking. Each Sakura cheesecake is made with Uncle Tetsu’s secret ingredient. I personally preferred the Sakura Cheesecake over the Yuzu Cheesecake. The yuzu was slightly too sour for my liking but the Sakura Cheesecake was…
