Seafood Crate: Fresh Seafood Delivered To Your Door

– in partnership with Seafood Crate-

We all know life tends to get a little busy once summer is over. Things start to pick up again, especially in September, so I try my best to reinforce a daily routine before my work life balance gets out of hand. One of the routines include ordering from a weekly food subscription service, which encourages us to stay in and cook at home rather than spending money on dining out or ordering take out. We’ve tried ordering from the wide range of different food subscription services out there including prepared meal kits and frozen produces, but we’ve never heard of a company that specializes in fresh seafood delivery service until Seafood Crate approached us a little while ago.

How it works

Pick your Seafood Crate – Seafood has made it super convenient for those that don’t know where to start. You can either choose between a selection of curated seafood crates or you can select and add individual seafood items to your own custom seafood crate.

Choose your Delivery – The best part about Seafood Crate is that you can select a one time option order to try them out. If you’re satisfied with your order, you can select a weekly or monthly subscription service. The subscription service is pretty flexible so you can modify or cancel anytime. Seafood Crate receives fresh seafood every Monday and is processed and shipped same day. It takes 1-2 days for delivery. We usually receive our packages on Tuesday.

Receive fresh Seafood – The seafood arrives fresh and NOT frozen in a vacuum sealed package. Their fully recyclable boxes contain insulation and ice gel packs that keep the seafood cold–no matter what the temperature is!

What makes Seafood Crate different

Their seafood doesn’t sit on a shelf – Seafood Crate’s seafood is not frozen sitting in a warehouse waiting to be shipped. Their supply chain cuts out the middle man and gets from the fishing boat to their customer’s door much quicker.

They source premium seafood – Seafood Crate works closely with their suppliers to ensure only the finest seafood reaches customers. Their parent company, Inter-Canada Fisheries, supplies to high-end restaurants.

They minimize waste – Seafood Crate’s facility is virtually waste-free. Their ordering system ensures they order exactly the right amount. That’s the reason why they have an order deadline and why they deliver on just one day of the week.

Handling Information

Refrigerate/ Freeze – Refrigerate / freeze seafood inside vacuum pack for longer shelf life. Use within 7 days of packing date. Once opened, use within 2-3 days.

Freeze – Freeze sashimi-grade products before consumption

Thaw – Thaw frozen seafood by placing it in a refrigerator (1-3°C) for 24 hours to maintain optimal nutritional value and taste.

What we ordered!

We decided on building our own Seafood Crate with a total of 6 portions. We opted for Yellowfin Tuna (x2 orders), Cooked Octopus, Rock Lobster Tail (x2 orders), Wild Scallops (4 pieces)

Seafood Crate isn’t kidding when they say “honestly fresh”! These vacpacks really work. All the seafood items we selected looked, and tasted amazing! They truly do provide customers top-quality seafood.
