Apple & Oat Pot

I’ve been eating the Apple & Oat Pot for breakfast almost everyday for the past 2 months and I really feel the difference in my body! I usually prepare this the evening before, leave it in the fridge overnight and take it out in the next morning. It takes about 5 minutes to prepare – really quick & easy.

You will need:

  • 1 Mason Jar with a lid – I usually opt for a medium sized jar just because I like to add slices of bananas & handful of blueberries in the morning to my pot
  • 1/2 a Cup of Large Flake Oats
  • 1 Table Spoon of Chia Seeds
  • 1 Apple (orangic)
  • 1 Handful of unsalted pistachios
  • 1 Handful of raisins
  • 1 Cup of Unsweetened organic soy milk OR unsweetened organic almond milk

Chia seeds have become one of the most popular foods in the health community. Chia seeds are an excellent source of many essential minerals. They are high in manganese, phosphorus, copper, selenium, iron, magnesium and calcium.

The addition of unsalted pistachios gives the pot some “crunch” or just some textural contrast. The additional of raisins is just to give a bit of sweetness. I don’t always add raisins to my pot – I find that the natural sweetness of the apple does it for me.

After I completely grated my apple, I put the apple straight into the mason jar.

Then I add oats & Chia seeds.

Then add the unsalted pistachios & raisins.

Followed by 1 cup of unsweetened organic soy milk or unsweetened organic almond milk – I tend to switch it up a bit from week to week.

Ensure the milk covers the ingredients in the pot then stir it up a bit.  Put the lid on and give it a shake. Leave the pot in the fridge overnight and it’ll be all ready to go the next morning. Once I arrive at work, I like to add slices of banana and a handful of blueberries to top up the apple & oat pot.
