See What’s in Store for CNE 2015!

It’s that time of the year everyone! CNE (@LetsGoToTheEx) is back for their 137th edition which marks the culmination of a spectacular summer in the city of Toronto. CNE this year will be running from August 21 – September 7, 2015. New and exhilarating attractions join many returning favourites in the 2015 CNE line up including all new Craft Beer Festival in the heart of the Food Truck Frenzy, performances by Olympic Gold Medalists Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir in a new Acrobatic & Ice Skating Show Bon Voyage!

Luckily enough for me, I was invited to CNE‘s 2015 Media Preview this morning. Here is what was accomplished in 2 short hours =)

XPogo Stunt Team – The world’s best extreme pogo performance team makes its CNE debut with a one of a kind, high flying and gravity-defying act. The team performed flips and tricks on next-generation pogo sticks that can bounce up to 9 feet in the air.

Here the XPogo stunt ride jumps over CNE General Manager Virginia Ludy.

SuperDogs – The SuperDogs are back and celebrating all things Hollywood with an excerpt from their brand new blockbuster show, Hollywoof!

Yate Dance & Acrobatic Team – Performing a special routine with human pyramids and contortion. China’s Yate Dance and Acrobatic Team captivated audiences with their powerful gymnastics and theatrical costumes.

Parkour Demonstrations – Athletes from Toronto’s Monkey Vault Training Movement Center demonstrated the excitement of free-running, jumping, climbing and vaulting

Chicken Waffle on a Stick

  • Crispy fried chicken on a stick blanketed in a fluffy waffle and dipped in maple syrup.
  • It’s then sprinkled with icing sugar and a side of Frank’s Red Hot for dipping
  • Served at the West End of the CNE grounds near the Press Building

Garlic Snow Crab Fries

  • Seasoned fresh cut fries with house made garlic aioli, fresh snow crab, topped with parsley and dill
  • Served at Jake’s Lobster in the Food Building

Corrado’s S&M Burger

  • Fifty Shades of marina sauce! A homemade meatball patty topped with spaghetti, parmesan cheese and Corrado’s famous marina sauce.
  • Spicy chilli toppings are available for those who like it “hot”
  • Served at Corrado’s Authentic Italian at Midway

Frosted Flake Battered Chicken on a Stick

  • Juicy battered chicken rolled in Frosted Flakes and deep fried to sweet crunchy tenderness
  • Served at Iron Skillet Sirloin Tips in the Food Building

Poutine Balls

  • A Canadian staple gets a Bavarian Twist!
  • Buttery mashed potato balls are stuffed with authentic cheese curds, then rolled in bread crumbs and deep fried to a crispy golden brown
  • Once plated, the Poutine Balls are smothered with Bavarian style gravy and even more cheese curds
  • Served at Vienna in the Food Building

  • Spicy Cheese Burger and Honey Garlic fried chicken sandwiched between a Jamaican beef patty with pepper jack cheese, wasabi cucumber, crispy hickory sticks, fresh tomato, sirracha mayo and buttermilk coleslaw

Bub’s SUMO Burger

  • The Heavyweight of burgers, this Asian-inspired burger features two beef patties, tomato, lettuce, hoisin sauce, wasabi mayo, wasabi cucumbers, caramelized onions, chow mein noodles on a sesame bun

Baonana Split

  • Soft and fluffy traditional Asian bun, called a “bao”, is filled with hazelnut chocolate, sliced fresh banana. whipped cream, chocolate  & strawberry syrup, topped with a Maraschino cherry

Bloomin’ Apple

  • Inspired by a classic fair favourite, the blooming onion, this new dessert hybrid is made from a whole apple, sliced and topped with caramel and Nutella in the center

  • The classic Oreo cookie dipped in red velvet cake batter and deep fried, then topped with cream cheese icing!
