If you ever happen to be in Central – Hong Kong, be sure to drop by Starbuck’s first ever “Old School” (冰室) themed coffee shop ! Located half way up the stairs on the infamous Duddell Street – this particular location is designed by G.O.D. founder Douglas Young. Though I must give credit to Starbucks for immersing itself into Hong Kong’s culture of Old School Style Cafes.
Once you walk into this particular location at Central – its just your ordinary decor until you further into the back. You notice the instant change with the tile floors, wooden booths, landscape of big character signs and tenement buildings and most noticeable is their green window frames.
They even have birdcages hanging from the ceilings in reference to the traditional “bring your bird” to cafes
I usually go for my regular lattes when I’m in Canada – but since I was boiling outside from the 40 degree heat, I opted for one of their returning frappuccino favourites!
Red Bean Green Tea Frappuccino {Grande}
- my all time favourite! wish they had the red bean offered here 🙁
